The Kitchen assistant works directly under the supervision of the Chef. Kitchen staff provides excellent customer service and high quality meals and snacks for clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare the food requirements of the daily menu with concern for quality, appeal, presentation, cleanliness and safety.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Keep all workstations & equipment clean at all times and follows a cleaning schedule for kitchen, dining room, and storage areas.
Assists with inventory as needed by chef.
Using the proper methods and techniques for receiving, dating, and storage of quantities of food and associated supplies from vendors.
Work together in a team oriented environment
Ensure that all menu items are presented in a neat and appetizing manner.
Performs dishwashing & cleaning procedures at end of meals & shifts.
Follow Client diet restrictions and allergies.
Maintain client confidentiality at all times.
Submit accurate and timely personnel information and reporting of hours worked.
Other duties as assigned.

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard clinical environment with extensive client contact and frequent interruptions. Due to the nature of the work, the associate must be comfortable working in a kitchen environment.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an clinical setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 40 pounds); to operate maintenance equipment requiring repetitive movement.
Vision: Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED
Valid food service certification/ food handler’s card
Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
Current CPR and First Aid certifications preferred, but not required.
