There's a new effort to help mothers infected with Hepatitis-C or HIV. On Thursday, the Walgreens in Bermuda Dunes donated several breast pumps and boxes of milk storage bags to the ABC Recovery Center, a substance abuse center in the Coachella Valley. The donations will help moms volunteering to pump milk for infected mothers.

Almost 50 years ago, the road to recovery for many in the Coachella Valley started inside a small home in Indio, where Alcoholics Anonymous meetings were held daily and men paid $10 a week to sleep anywhere there was room.
A $25,000 grant from the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation will enable the ABC Recovery Center to fully refurbish the facility’s original building and return it to use. The organization was selected as the latest recipient of the KPSP Local 2 Coachella Valley Spotlight.
