Chris Yingling, CEO

Chris Yingling, Chief Executive Officer of ABC Recovery Center has seven years of experience in the addiction treatment field. Chris has a broad knowledge of the CARF Accreditation process, and has been successful in gaining and maintaining accreditation. His past work as Sunspire Health Desert Palm’s Executive Director and Sunspire Health Desert Palm’s Recovery and Quality Manager, ideally positioned him to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer at ABC Recovery Center. Raised in Southern California, Chris holds a degree in Human Services and continues to pursue a degree in business.

 

 

 

 

David Leahy, CFO

David’s thirty years of diverse experience includes administering large government contracts within a university setting, heading finance & administration departments at a national arts association, a children’s social service agency, a family social service agency, and a real estate development firm. He also served as a finance executive at a large hotel/condominium resort. David has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business Administration from Rutgers University.

Ally Anderson

Ally is the Program Director at ABC Recovery Center and has been with the organization for 8 years. Ally received a Bachelor of Arts in Family Life Education from California State University at Long Beach and previously worked with families and children in the medical field as a child life specialist for seven years. Ally is a Certified Addiction Specialist and has been certified in the Matrix Model Outpatient Program. She has helped with our perinatal program and currently oversees the operations of our services to ensure all programs are meeting the standards of our accreditation and state requirements.

Edith Hernandez 

Edith is the Director of Operations at ABC Recovery Center. She was born and raised in the Coachella Valley and has worked in the chemical dependency field for over 4 years. Edith has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services & Management and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Administration. Prior to coming to ABC Recovery Center, Edith worked for the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in Rancho Mirage in many different capacities such as the admissions, volunteer services and financial services department. She has a strong background in administrative support as well as insurance and enjoys working with clients from all paths of life.

Suzanne Hurstrom 

Suzanne Hurstrom is the Quality Assurance Manager at ABC Recovery Center. After a long professional career in sales, Suzanne decided that her professional aspirations lacked fulfillment and decided to enter into the chemical dependency field. Suzanne is passionate about working in an environment with people that are trying to save and change their lives. She offers compassion, knowledge and support in many areas. Her goal is to positively impact and support the people that come into treatment by providing tools, solutions and healthy life skills to function in society. In addition to her knowledge of the 12 step programs,  Suzanne is also a Wilderness First Responder which is a special training to guide offsite adventures and conduct special process groups on trails and outings.

Deborah Johnson, CADC-II

Deborah Johnson has had her CAS II Certification with the State of California since June 2001. She has 20 years Clean and Sober in Alcoholic Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. She has dedicated her 20 years of sobriety to helpings others achieve sobriety and healing. Through her many years in the field, Deborah has worked in various modalities including detoxification, inpatient and intensive outpatient. Deborah is currently the lead counselor of our intensive outpatient program.

 

 

 

 

 

Kevin Koffler, MA, LMFT 

Kevin is the Clinical Director at ABC Recovery Center. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Kevin brings over fifteen years of experience using evidence-based practices to treat co-occurring disorders. Prior to this role, Kevin worked as the Clinical Director of Sunspire Health Desert Palm. Kevin has also worked as a Clinical Supervisor for Drew Child Development where he managed a multidisciplinary team of clinicians. He was also a Clinician at Tarzana Treatment Center and the Phoenix House Academy, as well as a Lead Clinician for Transitions Day Treatment Intensive at San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health. Prior to becoming a clinician, Kevin was a journalist and writer. He is the co-author of The New Breed: Actors Coming of Age (Henry Holt). Kevin received his undergraduate education at New York University and received his master’s in clinical psychology from Antioch University.

 

 

Michael Nebo, CADC-I

Michael is the STOP Program Manager at ABC Recovery Center. He graduated in 2011 from Inter Coast College in Addiction Studies. Michael is a certified counselor through the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals. In 2013, Michael was the recipient of the prestigious Frank Lewis Counselor of the year award. Prior to joining the team at ABC Recovery Center, Michael worked at Morongo Basin Mental Health as a counselor working with adults in residential substance abuse treatment.
