About Mike Neatherton:
Mike Neatherton has a behavioral healthcare career spanning more than 35 years and is a nationally recognized expert in the field of alcoholism and drug dependency treatment. Mike is a Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Northbound Treatment Services headquartered in Newport Beach, California. Northbound is a 100-bed addiction treatment center specializing in the treatment of young adults. Prior to partnering in the creation of Northbound, Mike served in various executive positions at the Betty Ford Center, where he worked for over 20 years.
Mike received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wright State University in 1975 and a Master of Science degree from Indiana State University in 1976. He was inducted into the Wright State University Alumni Hall of Fame in 2015, and is a member of both the American College of Health Care Executives and the American College of Addiction Treatment Administrators.
Mike serves as a distinguished faculty member of the West Coast Symposium on Addictive Disorders, the Addiction Executive Leadership Summit, and the Clinical Overview of the Recovery Experience. He also serves as a trustee for the Grace of God Foundation and the Harmon Family Foundation. Mike is a committed mentor and coach and is passionate about cultivating the next generation of leaders using the transformational leadership principles of transparency, authenticity, and collaboration.
Mike’s passion for treatment is founded upon the belief that all individuals can recover from alcoholism and drug dependency and wholeheartedly believes his clarity of purpose is a gift of his own sobriety. He cites his strong spiritual values, faith-based priorities, love of family, and the ability to find and maintain a healthy balance in his personal life as the keys to his professional contributions.
Mike and his wife Maria have been married 37 years and have three daughters, Michaela, Sarah and Caitlin, as well as one grandson, William. They reside in Palm Desert, California and have called the desert home for the past 27 years.
